How to Fix Outlook Errors?
Microsoft Outlook is a very popular email client used by most users using Windows as an operating system. It is user friendly and also very popular due to its synergy with other programs in MS Office.
However like any software program it has also its fair share of bugs and problems. The common Microsoft office outlook errors usually show up as corrupted registry, knotted server problems, program conflicts and mailbox problems. The list of Outlook error messages is long but in this article we will concentrate on common problems and methods to fix them.
The most common Outlook error is when the mail client hangs or crashes, freezing the desktop. These are sometime followed by error message code ’0x800ccc15′.
Another common Outlook error is the failure to send and receive messages. You could get error messages like ‘an unexpected termination of server’or ‘target machine actively refused your connection’ or even ‘the operation is timed out waiting for a response from the POP server’.
The ‘help’ tab is useful in solving some of these problems. Also you can use the network diagnostic tool in the control panel, more so if you use a wireless connection. It helps track any Outlook error by scanning your computer especially all programs which use the network.
Many times MS Outlook errors are attributed to bad registry entries, missing DLLs and invalid key within the registry. A good registry cleaner can be a good Outlook error fixer in this type of a situation. You can find a good optimizer and cleaner online.
These Microsoft office outlook errors could be rectified using the recovery procedure that you can try yourself. Here is the process to follow:
- Close Outlook and other programs and reboot the system, see if the problem just goes away on its own.
- Backup the outlook mail files as a precautionary step by copying appropriate PST files. You can refer to the system configuration tips. Remember that while taking back-up Outlook should not be running. Also check that these files are not close to or exceed the 2GB limit.
- For files larger than 2GB, download a free tool (PST2GB) from Microsoft website to get rid of extra data. However please note that use of PST2GB may cause loss of some messages. The 2GB limit is a problem in older versions of Outlook ( 2002 and earlier)
- Try Scanpst Inbox repair tool to fix the Outlook email storage. It is freeware from Microsoft and is a good Outlook error fixer.
Other than these above mentioned errors you may also notice the following general Outlook errors:
- 0x800CCC00 Load Sicily Failed- Authentication did not load: To fix this Outlook error try to restart Outlook. If you still get the same error, wait for 20 to 30 minutes for server to reset your account. This also may be due to corruption in the user account. Try setting a new identity and see if that works.
- 0x800CCC01 Invalid certificate content: To fix this error get your certificate re-issued by your server authority.
